NON-REPRESENTATIONAL PAINTINGS ON PAPER - 2014

This Series is based on how color and line coexist purely through their energy. One doesn’t often think about color or line like this. But for me, they are energies not to be taken for granted.

The process was innovative because I had not honored the abstractness in color quite like this. I was using lines or marks to convey the subtleties in my life, like the wind blowing through the Sycamore Tree on the Old Coast Highway in Big Sur, Ca. and how that feels. We have times that are awe-inspiring but often forget to talk about them. These works are me taking the time to visually sing about the intangible.

Thank you for viewing the paintings.
